arrow

HEREDITARY PREDISPOSITION: A genetic predisposition to caries and other oral diseases.

Treatment

CARIES (CAVITIES)

This is tooth damage that manifests as carious defects and cavities on the surface. It often proceeds without symptoms and can spread to adjacent healthy teeth

STAGES OF CARIES:
  • Initial Stage: One or more spots on the teeth – light or dark shades. At this stage, signs of enamel demineralization are present. In this case, caries can be successfully treated without using a drill.
  • Superficial Stage: The enamel is damaged, and the tooth becomes more sensitive to various irritants: sour, sweet, cold, hot, or salty foods. This requires intervention, polishing, and remineralization or a filling.
  • Moderate Stage: The decay has reached the dentin and causes severe pain. Treatment involves cleaning out the carious areas and placing a filling.
  • Deep Stage: The dentin is seriously damaged and requires immediate treatment. It can provoke pulpitis or periodontitis. It requires complex treatment to save the tooth.
TYPES OF CARIES:
  1. Fissure Caries:
Caries develops in the deep furrows of chewing teeth, especially in children, and often goes unnoticed in the early stages.
  2. Interproximal Caries (Between Teeth):
Caries that occurs between the teeth and is difficult to diagnose visually, is often only found when pain or tissue destruction occurs.
  3. Cervical (Gumline) Caries:
Caries, which appears as white matte spots near the neck of the tooth, is easily detected in the early stages during regular examinations.
  4. Atypical Caries:
Rare caries affecting the cutting surfaces of the front teeth and the humps of the chewing teeth is easily diagnosed and treated with standard methods.

ROOT CANALS

Root canal disease occurs when the internal cavities of a tooth, where the soft tissue (pulp) is located, become inflamed or damaged. This can happen for various reasons, such as deep caries, trauma, or other diseases. Root canal treatment, or endodontic treatment, is typically used to save such teeth and remove the source of pain or inflammation.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT IS USUALLY PERFORMED IN THE FOLLOWING CASES:
  • All forms of pulpitis.
  • With periodontitis.
  • After tooth trauma involving damage to the internal cavity.
RECOVERY AFTER ROOT CANAL TREATMENT:

If you experience discomfort and increased sensitivity to hot and cold, this may be a sign that restoration is needed.

During rehabilitation, put minimal load on the treated area, avoiding very hot or cold drinks and food. If the discomfort persists, consult your dentist.

PULPITIS AND PERIODONTITIS

Pulpitis is a disease that occurs as a result of inflammation and damage to the soft tissue of the tooth (pulp) inside the tooth.

ACUTE:
  • Symptom: Sharp pain that can occur at any time.
  • Nature of Pain: Pulsating and intense, can affect the nerve column.
  • Causative Factors: Caries, trauma, spread of pain along nerve pathways.
CHRONIC:
  • Symptom: Periodic dull pain, reaction to temperature and taste stimuli.
  • Nature of Pain: Less pronounced, aching.
  • Possible Transition to Acute: It is important to see a dentist in a timely manner.
TREATMENT METHODS:

1.  Conservative:

  • Treatment: Cleaning of root canals, removal of dead tissue, filling, and restoration of the tooth's integrity.
  • Treatment Plan: Developed individually depending on the form of the disease.

1.  Surgical:

  • Treatment: The surgical method is used at advanced stages when the inflammatory process is extensive, and conservative therapy will not yield the desired result.
  • Procedure: Removal of the affected pulp, removal of the tooth, or resection of the root apex.

TOOTH RESTORATION

Tooth restoration is the process of repairing damaged or lost teeth using special materials to improve the function and appearance of the dental arch.

WHEN IS RESTORATION NEEDED?
  • Increased tooth wear, cracks.
  • Uneven color, darkening, and fluorosis.
  • Partial tooth loss or the presence of chips.
METHODS OF TOOTH RESTORATION:
  • Direct Restoration: Restoring the natural color and shape using composite materials.
  • Veneers: Thin ceramic or composite shells for the front teeth.
  • Crowns: An orthopedic restoration that completely covers the tooth. Recommended for serious defects and chips, restoring aesthetics and preventing further damage to the tooth. Ideally suited for restoring teeth with darkened enamel after endodontic treatment, returning the tooth to its natural shape and preventing further destruction.

A BEAUTIFUL SMILE IN 2 STAGES

STAGES OF CARIES TREATMENT

STAGES
1. Consultation
The doctor conducts a detailed visual examination, orders diagnostics and, taking into account the data received, develops an individual treatment plan.
2. Determining the color of the filling material
This is done to select a material that best matches the color of the natural teeth and has a natural appearance.
3. Removal of carious tissue
A key stage in which it is important to carefully remove all damaged tissue to prevent further inflammation.
4. Enamel preparation and adhesive application
The enamel is prepared, onto which the material for reliable bonding of the filling to the tooth is applied.
5. Filling and polishing
With the help of the filling material, the aesthetic and chewing function of the tooth is restored.
image

STAGES OF ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

STAGES
1. Diagnostics
The general dentist conducts a thorough examination and, if necessary, performs a 3D CBCT scan. Based on the diagnostic results, the doctor makes appropriate decisions.
2. Preparation for treatment
Local anesthesia is used for the procedure. After the anesthesia takes effect, the doctor isolates the tooth with a rubber dam and begins the work.
3. Removal of inflamed pulp
The pulp chamber is opened to access the affected tooth pulp using special burs.
4. Filling
Filling the root canals is the final stage, which involves filling the canal and the tooth's cavity with a filling material.
image

STAGES OF PULPITIS TREATMENT

STAGES
1. Removal of carious lesions
The caries is removed, and if necessary, healthy tooth tissues are partially removed to ensure access to the root canals.
2. Removal of the pulp
This is performed using special instruments designed for working in the canals.
3. Mechanical preparation of the canals
This is done to widen the canals for high-quality filling, after which a temporary filling is placed.
4. Removal of the temporary filling and canal irrigation
At the next visit, the temporary filling is removed, and the canals are treated with antiseptics for further work.
5. Filling
The canals are tightly filled with a special material.
6. X-ray control
An X-ray is taken to understand if the filling was done correctly.
image

STAGES OF PERIODONTITIS TREATMENT

STAGES
1. Preparation for treatment and unsealing of the canal
The doctor administers anesthesia and places a rubber dam. The carious lesions are removed, and the canals are gradually widened and cleared of the filling material. After this, the outflow of pus through the root canal is characteristic.
2. Canal preparation
The root and canals are thoroughly cleaned, and antiseptic pastes are placed to remove the inflammation.
3. Placement of a temporary filling
The placement of new medication and a temporary filling is done several times until the infection is completely eliminated, under the careful supervision of a doctor.
4. Final filling
At the final stage, the canals are filled with a permanent material, and the crown part of the tooth is restored.
